Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

The difficulty and terrain have a rating of ~1.5 because there are so many interesting ways to approach the Geocache. It can be easy and/or difficult depending on many factors (you will see).
When in doubt bring your boots!

This is a beautiful area for a hike with friends and family! You will see lots of trees, diverse land features and some elevation (something we don’t see much of in the Chicagoland area).

A compass may be helpful when the canopy is thicker. Take your time and explore the area. You will find plenty of interesting artifacts amongst the vegetation.

Long pants, boots, compass and bug spray are most likely needed for this one! Please note there is Poison Ivy in the area.

Please help keep our parks beautiful and pack out some trash on your way out.

Note: There is private property in the area, which is identified by signs. Not all borders are marked clearly.

My 500th find, Woo Hoo! Been meaning to get up this way to get this one but with one thing or another have had time to do it. So saved it up for my #500. Dropped of a couple of TB's and picked up the few in the cache since they looked like they had been there for a while. TFTC

309th find... but who's counting anyway?!? Unfortunately, this was not a milestone for me but it will definitely be remembered. Thank you Robamy for maintaining this cache for so long. It's 10th anniversary is just around the corner! I picked up a couple travel bugs. I dropped a smiley geocoin and one of my very own signature pathtags. What a great day for caching. 1 of 11 finds today. TFTC!

#100. A small milestone that many have reached before. However, we thought we would use the occasion to pay our respect to Beverly. Thank you to BDSmiley for pointing us in the right direction. A beautiful walk on a finally warm day. Left a couple of geocoins that we picked up last week in Florida. Thanks Beverly for being there as an important piece of geocaching history.

Nearly a year ago, I decided that my 2,000th cache was going to be this one! It has been on my Watchlist for longer than that. As my numbers started to get closer, it seemed that everything was starting to line up perfectly for me to make a run at this one today. I knew weeks ago that I was going to be in this area and so I needed to make it happen. Because of a commitment, I knew that I would need to remain in the area after today and so I wasn't expecting any company for my milestone. But I was okay with that.

A few days ago I heard from my good pal Alleslapp. He was interested in making the drive up with me despite the fact that he'd already made this find months ago. I couldn't believe it. Now that's a good friend! We had a wonderful time hunting around these woods today, I was almost giddy going after this one. When it came down to The Moment, he left me completely on my own to make it official. As I was walking up on this historical cache, on a beautifully sunny afternoon, with my good friend along for the ride...I couldn't have been happier. You can see it on my face as Alleslapp was right there with a sign and a camera at the ready to preserve the memory.

Alan, I'm extemely humbled that you would join me on this cache hunt (that you were nearly arrested at once upon a time ). I won't soon forget it. And to my friends back home,Tooltime8 and DMNelson23, thanks for the congrats immediately following. Wish you guys were here.

Ahh Beverly. It's been about 6 months since we 1st met, but I was here for a different mission today. DJPD1023 was here to sign the log on his 2000th cache. Just a few short weeks ago I found my 1000th and now here you are making your 2000th find....you are da man. CONGRATULATIONS my friend! Glad to be here for this on such an awesome day. Bright sunny skies with nary a cloud in sight. Caching for the 1st time in 2010 in t-shirt and a light sweatshirt with great company. AWESOME!!! Looks like 3000 is only around the corner for you.
