Geocache Description:

There is a wonderful stature here that is promotes people to become ‘Organ Donors’ which I believe to be an Honourable thing to do. So please come and visit this unique site with its splendid views, rich escarpment and now a geocache on a ledge looking down at Bajamar.

The Heart of the Matter!

THE ORGAN DONOR (AL DONANTE DEL ORGANOS)

This is a two and a half hour walk in the Western Anaga Mountains with some Great views of Teide and some unexpected views of Bajamar and the Northern Coast When I first discovered this part of the island, I was delighted to turn a corner and find spectacular views over the “Barranco de la Galeta” and across to Roque de Moquinal.

However, the real surprise was to encounter this original sculpture in the middle of ‘Nowhere’. As I like surprises, we stopped, had a picnic and contemplated…… It has that sensual quality that makes you want to stroke it, feel it and hear it talk to you through the coolness of the stone. So, slow the body senses, be quiet and see if speaks to you!

The Sculpture was created by Pedro Zamorano but it was undated……

Between the Sculpture and the cache is a field of 'cardos'. These are plants with thorns that are best bypassed. So, instead of following the GPS direct ... use the paths! A track will take you towards the cache and some beehives .... my advice is :- as you approach the bees, turn right and up to the ridge and bypass them.

So, is there anyone out there can tell us more about this place?
