This cache is part of a local series of 12 hides at locations of Northwest Suburban Council Boy Scout Eagle Projects. Each container features a point of the Scout Law. Visit each cache, note the point with the Series #, and submit them all to receive a BSA Cache to Eagle patch.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. Over its first 100 years, Scouting has provided millions of hours of service to
communities across America.

Stillman Nature Center is a hotbed of Eagle projects by the Scouts of Troop 29. Just a few projects include three boardwalks (by Vince H, Ryan P and Eric R), an osprey platform (Jim Y), trail map signs (Geoff T), campfire benches (Jean-Claude R), and a bridge (Chris B). The products of these Eagle projects have greatly benefited the Stillman Nature Center, which greatly depends on volunteers for development and maintenance of this nature sanctuary.

To get to this cache, you will walk for about ten minutes along the Lakeside Trail. You will cross two Eagle boardwalks and see the Osprey Platform on the island in the lake. Bring your mosquito repellent and watch for poison ivy along the trail side. There is no need to leave the path at any time. The cache is a 3" x 1/2" plastic tube. To keep people from damaging the nature by looking off the trail, I'll tell you the cache is hidden under a trail map sign!

Please be sure check out the Raptor shelters between the parking lot and the lake. There are injured owls, hawks, a turkey vulture and a falcon housed there.

***Please note the Stillman Nature Center is only open to the public on Sundays, between 9am and 4pm.***
