This the 17th in my series of hides near fire lookouts, and probably the easiest to access in the entire state of Oregon. Welcome to Prairie City Lookout.
Started in the 1930s, this firefinder on a stand is right next to a paved road only 1 mile south of Prairie City. It provides an excellent view of the surrounding mountains, and is still used today whenever lightning is in the forecast. Please do not come here expecting to see or use the firefinder, it is kept locked and under cover when not in use for a reason! You're seeking a camoed Oxyclean container with logbook.
