Geocache Description:

The Grass Hill School was built in 1861 and operated through 1968.
At one time, there were eight grades taught there: 1-4 downstairs and 5-8 upstairs.
Of course, there were few students in West Millbury, so each grade only took up one or two rows.
The Millbury Historical Society has a long-termed lease with the Town for its use of the school. Have a look around but be careful and respectful. This cache is placed with permission from a member of the Historical Society.

While you're there, take a look to the right of the building just beyond the woods. There's a tall, steel structure now covered with vines. Some "young" folks in town still remember cowering under their desks when this sounded. Do you? CAUTION: you'll notice the trees just in front of it were topped off. They were not cut down because the tower is loaded with bees! buzzzzz
