Geocache Description:

Hidden on Clinton Path, a cool spot with a tunnel under the train tracks. The actual cache is not in the tunnel, but quite near it.

Bring your own pencil!

Easy access. Few stairs at the end.

Park on Clinton Road near the intersection of Druce St for easiest access. By public transportation, take the green line 'C' train to Englewood Ave stop. Head South on Clinton Path (a road at first) through the tunnel.

Look! It's a cow path, in the middle of the city, but how are the cows going to get down the stairs? Wait!, Thats no cow path, its Clinton Path, another one of the Brookline Paths. The Cache is hidden on Clinton Path, not on it's main attraction, the tunnel under the railroad tracks, but further up, close to the top.

Another in a series of caches hidden on the foot paths in Brookline. These hidden gems provide easy pedestrian access up and down steep slopes and across (or in this case, under) the "T" tracks which provide convenient public transportation in the Boston area.

Clinton path appears on maps as early as 1868 as a "Cattle Way" crossing under the Boston and Albany railroad. Originally he train tracks crossed over the path on a bridge, and as you and your cows walked under you could look up and see the trains crossing overhead. Around the turn of the 20th century the path was reconstructed as a covered tunnel with substantial steps leading up and down on both sides. Today the path provides a convenient passage for residents of Clinton Road and Fisher Hill heading to the park and Beacon Street.
