Geocache Description:

A 1.5 mile pleasant walk from a Village in Wales to a Wood in England along the River Wye in the lower Wye Valley. Probably one of the few caches to span a country border, starting in one country ending in another !

Llandogo is a village in rural Monmouthshire. It is set on a steep hillside on the side of the River Wye. It derives its name from St Oudoceus and at the start of this hunt for this cache you will spend some time in the grounds of this 19th century church with this name where a church has stood since the 8th century. Llandogo is famous for being a port and the building of trows, a flat bottom boat used for trading up and down the Wye.

Bigsweir / Cadora woods is a stunning wood on the banks of the Wye which contains old trees thought to be derived from the original natural woodland. Part of the Offas Dyke path runs through these woods. Lots of birdlife & small mammals running around too ! This is our first cache which we've decided to lay on achieving our 100th find. We live in the village and enjoy walking in these woods. This route follows defined paths and is suitable for children and strollers up until the final location.

The cache is a standard 1 litre cliptop box in a camo bag. The distance from start to finish is about 1.5 miles with parking at both ends if you don't fancy the walk. If you do we recommend taking the stile behind the church down to the river bank and head up river. Some of this will involve walking on road so be aware of this.

Original contents of this cache has a distinct woodland field which suits its location. Also there were 2 TBs, one owned by Ray & one owned by Sally. Out for a race around the globe.

The coordinates listed for this cache is for a small parking area for 2 or 3 cars outside the church. Please respect the neighbours and enjoy this lovely 19th century church.

The diffiicult rating is down to the GPS signal in Spring/Summer. In the winter this will be more like a 2.

Please follow the waypoint clues listed below to gather the coordinates for the final location

WE RECOMMEND THAT DUE TO THE GPS SIGNAL IN THIS AREA DUE TO TREE COVER, PLEASE START BACK AT THE CARPARK AND FOLLOW THE MAIN PATH IN. YOU CAN STAY ON THE MAIN PATH UNTIL ABOUT 30 FT FROM THE CACHE

The final cache location is at N51 4(M+G).FE(C-G) W00G KL.(C+A)(J+K)(H-J)).
