Geocache Description:

This geocache is provided by the Silvio O. Conte National Fish & Wildlife Refuge. The cache is located on the Nulhegan River Trail. You can find answers to the clues at their visitor contact station on RT 105 in Brunswick, VT, which is open Mon - Sat 9am - 4pm. Substitute the appropriate number with the letter, and then into the coordinates. You can check your answers at the front desk of the visitor center. Please leave no items behind. You can contact the refuge at 802.962.5240.

For easiest access to the geocache, follow the Nulhegan River trail to the river before relying on your GPS - otherwise, you'll be heading cross country over some rough terrain. The cache is located ~10' off the trail.

CLUES (from exhibits in Refuge Visitor Contact Station):
A. The National Wildlife Refuge System Improvement Act of 1997 identified A priority public uses of refuge lands (hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, photography, environmental education, interpretation).

B. In any given year, the Nulhegan Basin may only get 1 B 0 frost-free days (Brrr!!).

C. The lowland spruce-fir natural community occurs on _C_,449 acres within the refuge.

D. There are _D_ migratory bird flyways in North America (Atlantic, Mississippi, Central, and Pacific).

E. Pelican Island, America’s first National Wildlife Refuge, was established by Theodore Roosevelt in 190 E .

F. Among the great variety of forest vegetation types on the Nulhegan Basin, there are _F_ non-forest and developed cover types, such as beaver marsh and log yard.
