This is a series of caches that will start you on a 2.28 mile hike up to beaver dams. The hike is going up in elevation along Tinker Brook. The trail is a snow machine trail, no vehicles or ATV are alowed. Park down on Corbin St. Respect the neighbors. Bring a pen. Enjoy the plentiful wildlife.The terrain rating is going up because of the elevation in terrain.
Tinker Brook Goal Mine
This cache is located in area that folklore has many times claimed to be a source of Gold! I can say that the brook does have areas of black sand [a so called indicator of gold]. You can read a little more on this area by following this link (visit link) The cache is a ammo can filled with goodies.
The beaver dams are also a good spot to fish, as a teenager, some fifty years ago I always would get my limit fishing the brook and beaver dam. I must say that logging in recent years has changed the landscape. Enjoy the hike, the views especially the rocky ledges of Mt Jericho [a future site of a wind farm]
