This cache is placed at the end of the Cobb Hill Trail, a hike of
about 1.2 miles from the end of Jaquith Road in Hancock. The trail,
built and maintained by the Harris Center, travels sections
of old farm roads connected by a newer trail through the woods.
The trail is marked with white discs. Park at N 42°57.261
W072°02.787 in a small space at the end of the road, on the left,
across the street from a private house. The trail map
will be useful. In parts of the hike through a thick forest canopy,
you may lose reception, so you must follow the white discs
carefully. You will begin on the old town road which ran between
Hancock and Nelson, turn left on a narrow trail for a steady climb
through the woods, and come to an old farm road. After jogging left
on it for under .1 mile, the trail turns right uphill again, soon
opening up just before its end at a lovely view of Mt. Monadnock,
cut by volunteers from the Harris Center.
FTF prize is an unactivated geocoin.
Please, no nighttime caching. The house at the trailhead has
several dogs, all of whom will raise an alert when you park your
car.
