Easy terrain for hill walkers but take care in heavy mist as the old reservoir is close by. Cache is a 1 litre plastic snap lid container containing as much goodies as I could pack in.

I was passing this spot some time back and spotted something glistening in the deep pool. It seemed to be a domed rectangular shape with what looked like six spigots. The water was too deep to retrieve it so it remained a mystery as to what it could be. Each time I passed I would look down and hazard a guess, maybe some kind of fuel distributor for a very old kind of diesel engine? Part of a water treatment unit?

Some time last year someone came up and smashed the retaining wall. I came here and the pool had gone and there in the shallows was the mystery object. Well I never! Just shows you can't always believe your eyes.

I've added a photo of it so you can see for yourself.
