Eaton Avenue was one of the first avenues in Selkirk. There is a lot of history on this street as well as a few must know locations.
The Town of Selkirk was formed in 1882. It became a City on June 26, 1998.
The Scott House, located at 205 Eaton Avenue, was built by Robert Scott who was a County Agent and Police Magistrate. The House was later sold and became a Tea House. It is now a private residence.
The Masonic Hall was built in 1920 and is home to Lisgar Lodge #2, Khartum Carvers, Prince of Wales Chapter #11 Royal Arch Masons and Selkirk Shrine Circus Club.
The bell that sits in front of the Fire hall is the original Town of Selkirk Fire Bell.
The plaque that sits in front of The City of Selkirk Civic office was to commemorate Selkirk’s Centennial in 1982.
