The Great Disappearing Cache! Traditional Cache

Cache placed for BMC: CITO and Paddle CITO for Public Lands Day Event - September 25, 2010.

Cache is a bottle-cap container (logbook only). You will need a magnetic retrieval tool to get it out of its secret hiding spot. Open it from the gold cap end. BYOP.

Oh and like the sign says, “Hunters wear orange, so should you!” so be careful when looking for this cache.

Always looking for a new area to hike, I came across this section off Lamms Mill Road. I saw this spot along my travels, and just knew it called out to have a cache placed here at this popular fishing spot. It is like the cache name implies. It is a log (book) inside a log!

(Fast Forward Three Weeks)

OK, this probably wasn't the best place to hide a cache! LOL Mother Nature has been having her way at Ground Zero. I have had to go and check on it numerous times, for fear of it floating away! The last time I checked, it was completely under water! Since I love this area, I decided to move the cache container to higher ground instead of disabling it altogether. (Coordinates changed 10/13/10). Subtle cache name change as well. LOL BTW it is not hidden in the water!

(Fast forward a few more weeks)

It is back in the LOG! LOL

No log in site...is that a tree I see again? :-) Let's hope it stays hidden this time and doesn't disappear!
