Geocache Description:

Welcome to our Sunday Drive Series - #5 - Jarvis Creek 1.

This series of caches will take you on a journey around some of the roads that take in the wonderful scenic views of Lake Hume & it's surrounding hills, Mt.Granya & the Jarvis Creek Regional Park.

This series is aimed at a leisurely drive that hopefully takes you to some places you wouldn't often visit & take in the beautiful views along the way.

This is a 14km 2WD scenic drive that takes you between Old Tallangatta & just out of Georges Creek. This is the 1st of 2 caches placed along this scenic drive. Where this cache is located the track is known as Georges Creek track, but also Plateau Road.
At the top is "The Plateau" - A very popular camping & picnic area.
The cache is located up a bit of a hill, with safe parking within 200 metres either side of the cache. Do not park on the track for a quick dash up the hill, as the track is narrow and unsafe for yourself & other motorists. You will see 'larger' cleared areas from either side where it's safe to park. Only a few minutes walk to get the cache.
You do not need to cross the fence.
Our GeoKid picked the exact spot for this cache!

PLEASE NOTE: The road has been recently affected by the recentbad weather & has a few trees currenlty down. Both this cache & the other located on Plateau Rd are not far in from either of the entrance points to the park.

Cache is an AMMO tin.

Good Luck! We hope you enjoy the tour, and enjoy our 'Sunday Drive' as much as we do.
