Tally Ho Giddy-up Traditional Geocache

This is Jaffnut’s first cache.
Although I had intended using a 200ml Sistema, I opted for the current micro container to honour the intent of team coxy who provided it as a FTF in their nearby ‘Waverley Central’ cache.
Highbury Park was selected for a couple of reasons. First, it seemed like a good location to place a cache given the easy access and available parking. Second, I wanted to highlight some of the local history. Highbury Park is situated opposite the site of a former public house, the Tally Ho Hotel, which opened in 1871 (where Hungry Jacks now stands). In
1890 the hotel’s fruit garden was expanded to incorporate 10 acres of orchard. A race track was then developed near the hotel in 1889, and on Easter Monday 1899 2000 people
attended a carnival of foot races, horse races and buckjumping, which I imagine must have
been quite a sight. A commemorative plaque can be found in the pavement on Highbury
Road near the entrance to Hungry Jacks.
The cache is hidden outside of the regeneration area. During summer weekends the park is abuzz with cricketers and supporters which would make it more difficult to retrieve without
raising suspicions. A small car park can be found on northern side of Highbury Road west of Blackburn Road. You are looking for a micro container that blends in well with its surroundings. It is a log only cache so please BYO pen and take care to re-hide in the correct location and please cover your tracks/pokings.
