Geocache Description:

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that — on average — requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service.

This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called "Cache to Eagle" that showcases these special contributions.
This Eagle Scout project was the work of Patrick L. of Troop 261 in Farmingdale. The project included cleaning up the German Methodist Church Cemetery (aka Lyceum Cemetery) and dedicating new granite footstones for two local civil war veterans buried at the site, Cornelius & Alfred Walters. He also created a Civil War exhibit at the Farmingdale Public Library. This was just part of his “American Civil War Project.” Daniel F. of Boy Scout Troop #689 in Seaford also did an earlier Eagle Scout project in this cemetery.
The cache is now within the cemetery! The listing coordinates take you to the newly dedicated footstones. To find the final coordinates, look at the footstones:
Cornelius Walters’ footstone
  • B=The year of his death minus the year he left the service
  • C=The number of months mentioned.
  • G=Bx2
Now look at Alfred Walters’ Footstone
  • E=The date in the month of his death, minus the age he enlisted
  • F=E-C
  • J=The sum of the digits of his age at death.
Insert the answers for the letters to find the final cache coordinates:
N 40° 43.5FC W 073° 29.1JG

You are looking for a small lock-n-lock that's within the cemetery. Be cautious if there are muggles in the area. Please rehide well.
Cache location updated 10/4/20. If you solved before that date, calculate again.
