Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Almanac Mountain Fire Tower, one of 143 that operated across Maine as a forest fire lookout system. A camo pill bottle that will be winter friendly.

This tower is in Lakeville Plantation in Penobscot County. The original 48' tower was built in 1914 and was torn down in 1927. The 60' tower that stands here today was built in 1967. The tower is in fair condition but does not have a lower ladder. you can also find the nearby benchmark QG1391 while your here at .580 x .608
