Stanley Burn Traditional Cache
Roseacre: Putting this one to bed. Went today to check out cache and have decided to archive this one. Found the container and like the last few finders was unable to extract the cache. That is because it is not in the same place as it was hidden. So rather than waste my time it is easier to end the cache.

This is where Stanley Burn eventually reaches the Firth of Clyde. It has already flowed it's way from just outside the north of Ardrossan, it used to have two reservoirs on it's travels but these have been filled in a few years ago. One of them is now a park area which forms part of the Three Towns Trail. After passing by Ardrossan Academy the burn flows through Holm Plantation, where there is another nearby cache. This part of the burn is said to be the border line between Ardrossan and Saltcoats. The waterway then flows under the Largs to Glasgow railway, and under a couple of roads until it arrives at the beach.
Take care as area can be very busy at times. There is ample parking nearby, and please remember to bring your own pen/ pencil.
