Geocache Description:

The Gluggafoss is a waterfall in southern Iceland. This waterfall is also called the Merkjárfoss (window waterfall) called. The Merkjá falls down a cliff that just after the last ice age once constituted part of the Icelandic coast. Immediate left of the waterfall is called dike and to see a remnant of what was once a crack in the earth's crust has been that it was filled with lava. After solidification of the lava remained a very hard basalt that have slowly eroded away. A few hundred meters to the west is Þórðarfoss.
