Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden near a dry well which is dedicated to St Rumbold. The difficulty rating is due to the inconsistency of satellite cover in the area.

St Rumbold was an infant saint from Anglo-Saxon times, who lived for only three days.
St Rumbold was born (and died) in about AD 650 and was of royal parentage. He was born at King's Sutton, which is between Brackley and Banbury.
He was precocious from the start. On his first day he sought Christian baptism.
The next day Rumbold amazed everyone by preaching a sermon on Christian virtues and the Trinity.
On the third day he said that he was going to die. His remains eventually came to rest in the old churchyard in Buckingham.
St Rumbold's Well has been restored and protected by The Buckingham Society.
It is accessible from a footpath which was constructed on the site of an old railway line.
