Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla

Nejstarší dosud známá architektonická pametihodnost mesta z prelomu románsko-gotického období písemne doložená ve 13. století. Do 14. století sloužil jako farní, poté jako filiální kostel pro nekdejší osadu Plania, rozkládající se pri zemské stezce.
Po premene osady v plánskou ctvrt "Staré mesto" fungoval až do 18. století a to i jako hrbitovní. Za tricetileté války rozsáhle poškozen požárem. Roku 1787 zrušen za Josefa II.
20. století používán k hospodárským úcelum. Následne rekonstruován ke kulturne spolecenskému využití.
Celostátne významná památka svými ojedinelými freskami ze 13. století a vzácným románským portálem s oblouckovým vlysem.

Stručně o meste Planá
Mesto Planá leží na rozhraní pohorí Ceský les, Slavkovský les a Tepelská vrchovina.
V posledních letech se mesto stalo "Mekkou" milovníku výtvarného umení. Vedle soukromé Plánské galerie pusobí mestská galerie ve veži. Svá díla zde již vystavila rada špickových výtvarných umelcu. Galerie je otevrena podle zajištení výstav približne od kvetna do ríjna v prekrásných prostorách kostelní veže. Z daru umelcu zde vystavujících postupne vzniká sbírka moderního umení, která bude vystavována v kostele Petra a Pavla. Pravidelne promítá mestské kino a jsou porádány i další kulturní akce pro nejširší verejnost.

The saint Peter and Paul church
It is the oldest knownarchitectonic sight of the town,which dates back to the turn of the Roman and Gothic styles and is referred to in the thirteen century records.
Till the 14th century it was a parish and later a filialchurch of the original plania settlementthat spread along an important road.
After the settlement became part of the town called staré mesto (Old Town),the church was in service till the 18th centyry.
During the thirty-year-war it was badly damaged by a fire and in 1787, under the rule of Joseph II, it was abolished.
After the abolishment the church was used as a storage till the early nineties and was renovated recently for cultural events.
The st. Peter and Paul church is a nationally recognized sight with the unigue 13th century frescos and a rare Roman portal with an arc frieze
