Daniel Webster Council - Cheerful Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MainePublisher: All geocache placements must have a responsive owner. The cache owner must be able to respond to issues that come up and to submit an "owner maintenance" log to remove the "needs maintenance" icon.

In addition to the "needs maintenance" logs and DNF logs, Goundspeak also uses a Health Score algorithm. https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713

In this case, Groundspeak has sent an email to the cache owner with no response. The cache owner did not respond to any of the cachers hoping to find the cache and did not respond to the reviewer note so the cache is now archived.

The cache location is now open for any Geocacher to place a new cache, including the original cache owner.

Geocache Description:

A Scout is Cheerful.

A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.

Cache to Eagle®

Celebrating Scouting Leadership and Service

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout requires years of dedication and

hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete an extensive service project that he plans, organizes, leads, and manages. On average, each Scout conducts 167 service hours as part of that project. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million* in service to communities across America.

Cache to Eagle is a partnership between Geoscouting, the BSA, and Geocaching.com to highlight Eagle projects across the nation.
Through the program, participants set up normal public caches at Eagle project sites that also happen to be good cache spots.
Dozens of public caches that showcase these remarkable sites are already posted, and the initial response has been fantastic. Hundreds of people visit the Eagle Scout projects, and many of them write public notes on the logs at Geocaching.com.

Our geocoin BSA 100th Anniversary Geocoin DWC - Cheerful is starting it's journey here.

About this cache and project:

The ammo can cache is placed on the Cedar Loop in the Manchester Cedar Swamp area. There is a kiosk at parking where you can view all of trails in the area. OAScout and came with me to find just the right spot for this cache. We ventured out the main trail and took the Woodland loop to the right and when we came across the Cedar Loop we took a right. Then the Cedar Loop split and we went to the left. I think we picked the right way since we ended up in the swampy area, hence "Cedar Swamp'. Once you pass over the 19th section of the wooden walking path take a left. From there you are on your own or you can look at the hint.
It was a rainy, even snowy day on this late April day, but we still had a very "Cheerful" attitude walking many trails to find the perfect spot for this cache.

There is a small plate on the map box about the Scout who organized and completed his project here. A Scout from Troop 414 of Bedford NH. (Once we get more details of the complete project we will post them here.)
