Kouvolasta Kuusankoskelle johtavan Ahlmanintien rakensi Kymiyhtiö v. 1929-1934. Tie palveli alkuaikoina yksinomaan Kymintehtaalle suuntautuvaa liikennettä. Muu liikenne oli Ahlmanintiellä luvanvaraista aina 1970-luvun alkupuolelle saakka. Tietä käyttäneistä merkkihenkilöistä mainittakoon marsalkka Mannerheim ja presidentti Svinhufvud sekä Ruotsin kruununprinssi Gustav Adolf, jotka vierailivat 1930-luvulla Kuusankoskella. Tietä reunustavat hopeapajut istutettiin Kymiyhtiön puutarhurin Matti Sihvosen aloitteesta juhlistamaan kuninkaallista vierailua. Nimensä tie on saanut Kymiyhtiön entisen toimitusjohtajan Einar Ahlmanin mukaan. Tielaitos ja Kuusankosken kaupunki kunnostivat Ahlmanintien v. 1994-1995.

Ahlmanintie, the road from Kouvola to Kuusankoski, was built by Kymmene Company in 1929-1934 and originally served traffic to the Kymmene Mills only. Other vehicles needed a permit to use the road right up to the early 1970s. Famous users of the road include Marshal Mannerheim, President Svinhufvud and the Swedish Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf, who visited Kuusankoski in the 1930s. The white willows lining the road were planted on the initiative of the company gardener Matti Sihvonen in honour of the royal visit. The road is named after Einar Ahlman, a former Managing Director of Kymmene, and was repaired by the Road Administration and the City of Kuusankoski in 1994-1995.
