Team Bullis: I went in search of this. I had a log that said the area had overgrown and another that couldn't find it. As I started walking in, I agreed, this had become nasty. However, a short 20 feet, and I reached an ATV trail. I followed it to the cache site. The brook was all wide and muddy made that way by ATV traffic. I found the cache, but it was yucky. The cover hadn't been closed tightly.
The original hide was a 12 inch by 2 inch tube stuck inside a hollow log, then placed on a pile of logs left over from the logging. Well, logs don't last forever, and all of these began decaying and simply buried the cache container. Having a good idea where it was originally setting helped me know where to dig.
All in all, I think it is time for it to be archived.
