How Geocaching Works
Ammo can with a little extra camo. Log with pen included, various trade items, and a few trackables waiting to be taken on their way. Please close container securely and replace as you found it. I've included a pretty blue Geocaching.com lanyard from Shop Groundspeak for the FTF.
TIP: Come at the cache from the left - avoids a lot of sharp twiggy things.
I'm not limiting contents to travel bugs/trackables, but try to leave room for those that may be passing through. There may be tall grass or briars, depending on the season. There has been poison ivy very close to the cache site, but I am working on eradicating that, as I loathe the stuff. I might have missed some, though, so be careful! As always in the country, keep an eye out for possible snakes and spiders. There may occasionally be muggles out getting their exercise or walking their dogs along this stretch of road, in suitable weather. Some surreptition is advisable if there is a gathering at the Masonic Lodge. Wave at the pink brick house behind the cedar tree across the road to the north – they know all about this cache. ;-)
The usual guideline concerning trade items is “trade even or trade up,” so I have tried to include items of various values by visiting dollar spots, and by turning out my closets and boxes for forgotten yet interesting mathoms.
Original cache contents include: 2-pack fresh AA batteries, eyeglass repair kit, amethyst crystal, blue butterfly hair clip, blank recipe cards, travel pack of BandAids, Disney Word-Search puzzle book, gently-used guitar capo, pirate pencil topper, tiny plastic parakeet, and bumble bee, 2011 mini calendar, unicorn key ring, leaf charm, Buddha charm, green glass leaf pendant, heart-and-purple-bead bookmark, heart-shaped stick-on "gems", handmade blank notecard, and 10 Years of Geocaching lapel pin.
Trackables in inventory when cache was published: Alien Disclosure Geocoin, World Caching Ocean Geocoin, and Brian's 100th Cache Award Geocoin.
Congrats to NativTxn for the FTF!
