Geocache Description:

Top and I have been big fans of mshock's many wonderful Griffith Park caches and cache series. She clearly puts a lot of love and effort into them, and we thought it was time to pay tribute to her. So with a bit of advice from foon and BenAndJayme, and a bit of tinkering, swagging, and hiking of our own, this is that tribute.

Arrr, me hearties, and welcome to Privateers Paradise. This rugged spot inside Griffith Park is rumored to have been the hideout of a fierce band of freewheeling freebooters and their infamous captain, the Dread Pirate Molly. It's said that they hid out safely here for many years -- after all, who would look for pirates a dozen miles from the closest ocean? It's also said that they stashed a fabulous treasure here, but that's probably just an old sea story ...

What is known for certain -- The cache is at the posted coordinates. BUT. The chest is locked (it is fabulous treasure, after all). To find the combination, you need a bit of pirate knowledge and a bit of math. Just add up the following numbers:
-- How many pieces of cursed gold were there in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl?
-- In The Princess Bride, how many fingers did Baron Rugen have on his right hand?
-- How many more years was Frederic obligated to sail with the Pirates of Penzance?

When hidden, the fabulous treasure included: A diamond bracelet, a pearl necklace, 72 gold doubloons, a copy of Rafael Sabatini's Captain Blood (best pirate book evah), the captain's log ... and, for the FTF, a new, unactivated, Partners in Caching geocoin.

(Please reserve the FTF for the honoree and her partners in caching, Trooper Thorn and BeBop.)

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
