Geocache Description:

An award winning cache....

During HostaHead's term as president of the local garden club, she had the priveledge of running the Junior Gardeners program. For one of their meetings, HostaHead set up several multi's ranging in different difficulty levels. The kids were then separated into appropriate age groups and given a set of coordinates to follow. On their way to the first waypoints, they were taken along a small waterway where they observed the work of some beavers. Rare plants such as Jack-in-the-Pulpit and Lady Slippers were discovered that only grew in the forest. They were also instructed in the art of CITO and how important it is to keep the environment clean for all to enjoy. Her efforts did not go unnoticed because their activity was submitted to the Garden Federation of Massachusetts for their annual awards. The judges were so enthralled by this project that it was sent to the National Garden Club Federation where it won the Winifred F. Fink award for Youth Environmental Concern. Not a bad day of geocaching...and to top it off, she created over a dozen new cachers both young and old. For this reason...and in the same location I have placed this cache. Congrats to HostaHead on the FTF and the award...
