Geocache Description:

The zombie sub culture has been around for decades. The origins are undetermined but during my research, I discovered that many feel zombies have their roots in West African voodoo. In North America we were introduced to "The Magic Island" by W.B. Seabrook in 1929. This book is the sensationalized account of a narrator in Haiti who encounters voodoo cults and their resurrected thralls. Time Magazine claimed that the book "introduced 'zombie' into U.S. speech"

Depictions of zombies in popular culture tend to go two ways. Firstly, there's the docile, arms extended zombie who limps slowly around the city scape. Secondly, there is the hyper fast, super strength zombie. The first kind uses their numbers and slowly corners you into a space where there is no way out. The speedy strong ones, burst through windows, hide in closets and will generally pop out of anywhere. The thing these 2 type of zombies have in common is their acquired taste for sweet succulent brains. They just can't seem to get enough of them! You need to protect yours!

In case of zombies in our land, you should consider survival rules and have some kind of plan.

1) Make sure you are stocked up on quality name brand paper towel. Zombies are messy!
2) Stay limbered up. Zombies can be agile, but with proper stretching you can be more nimble!
3) Have a kickbutt partner. There's no need to take on apocalyptic life by yourself!
4) Wear your seatbelt. There's nothing worse then being in a car wreck while running from zombies. A simple click can save your day!
5) Did I mention getting a kickbutt partner? This valued rule should not be forgotten!
6) The double tap. Unfortunatly, zombies are relentless. If you regretably have to defend yourself in this manner, make sure you go for the noggin & double tap!
7) Keep a cast iron skillet. It can be used to heat your food, and if necessary, to defend yourself!
8) Finally, I list it 8th, but it is THE most important rule in a land of zombies. Have good cardio. Zombies can be fast and relentless, but if you have good cardio, you'll outrun and outlast every time!

It is regrettable to even have to have a plan of this nature, but it is always better to be prepared. Stay safe.
