Swan Valley Safe Multi-cache
astrohiker: Hi. This cache was Geocache of the year in early 2011 but not many people were keen to go to the 3 spots to get the clues & do a 5 - 7 min walk up a small hill that seemed too much for some. Tis a shame when a neat geocache is made & seldom few want to make the effore to go & do it. Seems I should go back to crappy clicklock containers. Everyone wants to find them. Oh well. Permanently archived due to lack of activity up until June 2012. Tis your loss, oh well, I did try.. Thanks & congrats to those who walked up the hill. Astrohiker.

YOU MUST DO THE TOUR FIRST TO GET THE NUMBERS OF THE SAFE. TUMBLER 1;You have to visit the Cenotaph at Stirling Gardens in Guildford on Meadow St.by the Stirling Guns. Add up the lower date on the brass plaque to 1 digit.TUMBLER 2; Head north & right onto Reid Hgy,left into Middle Swan Reserve.Count the old BRIDGE piles & add to 1 digit. TUMBLER 3; Travel to Yagans Memorial at the top end of West Swan Rd near Gt. Northern Hgy. Count how many "sturdy" trees there are at the entrance.

Cache is in the lower end of the Darling Range Regional Park. Short QUICK walk up to the cache. Tis not at the top. IT TAKES 5 TO 7 MINUTES TO GET THERE !
Northern entry is off Gt Northern Hgy as you head south, left at Haddrill Rd, Rt onto Campersic & left onto William. Watch out for 2 train crossings on Haddrill Rd.
I`d recommend sticking to the powerline track & veer off to the right just before the power poles 1/2 way up.There is a bit of a track that takes you to the rocks & Cache.You could go around the gate to the right & along the track south a bit then up but tis harder to get through the bush. Tis a big cache, wander around & you can`t miss it.
Alternative way in from Gt. Northern Hgy is via Hyem Rd, locality of Herne Hill, Gt Northern Hgy, which takes you onto Padbury then turn right onto Campersic & left onto William.
BRING SOME SWAPPABLES AS ITS A REAS WELL STOCKED CACHE. Cheers.
THIS IS A MECHANICAL CACHE & NOT A TOY. So please be gentle. Please note; NUMBERS HAVE TO BE IN SAME POSITION TO LOCK IT AGAIN. Don`t forget to wind on the tumblers a few afterwards. Thanks. Hope you enjoy this cache. There are 5 seats & a bench seat as well to sit on & enjoy the views to the city & coast near the cache. Ok they are really rocks.. You could also do the Guildford Antique shops, Swim & a BBQ at Middle Swan & do a few caches in the Swan Valley too. Don`t count the piles that were not part of the bridge!!You can tell as they don`t line up with the old bridge. CACHE IS IN THE GENERAL VICINITY OF CO ORDINATES on purpose so you can have a walk around. The final 3 numbers are all even numbers in case you have trouble adding up... Have a fab day.
