The calm waters of Mirror Lake reflect a wooded shoreline with sandstone cliffs up to 50 feet high. With 2200 acres and over 28 miles of trails, and a beautiful campground, this Park is a respite from the hub-bub of the Wisconsin Dells area.
In the Winnebago/Ho-Chunk language Ishnala means "By Itself Alone". We felt this is the perfect name for this cache located just off the Ishnala Trail. We have hiked this area for many years as an overgrown abandoned "duck" trail. It has recently been re-developed by the DNR, with a magnificent bridge spanning the canyon and leading to the Ishnala Trail.
PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL until you get close to the cache area. There are steep canyon cliffs nearby, and bushwhacking would be detrimental to this beautiful, fragile area...and DANGEROUS!!
