Geocache Description:

You will have about 350' of light bushwhacking to do on the way to the cache. Kids should be able to do this okay, just watch out because there are a lot of low branches along the way. Cache is not winter friendly.

Die Moosfrau (The Moss folk) are mythological creatures that are described in German folklore. They have an intimate connection to trees and to the forest. They are small in stature (about the same size of a modern day child) and are usually compared to dwarves and elves. They are grey and old looking with lots of body hair. Their entire bodies and even their clothing are covered in moss. They are closely related to the wood people, and the female moss folk are often referred to as wood maiden.

Often the target of the Wild hunt, Die Moosfrau escape the hunters by entering trees in the forest. They are a part of the trees and have to protect them to ensure thier survival.

This cache is hidden in honor of Die Moosfrau. They are a kind and gentle group of creatures that defend and protect the forests for themselves and for all us cachers.

The cache is full of trading SWAG. Please help yourself, but try to trade even or trade up. I hope that this stays full of SWAG to give all of the caching kids some quality SWAG to choose from. Please let me know if there is not a good amount of SWAG in the cache and I will go put out some more.

There is also an envelope with a FTF and STF prize. One is a Geocoin and the other is a compass. FTF can pick which item they want and leave the other for the STF.

Congratulations to Wemedge for the FTF and to Summit Seeker w Kids for the STF!

***A sidenote - I had originally hidden this cache in a different location and had asked Lockwhiz and crew to see if they could find it as a test run. They found it, but then I found out that the cache was located too close to a hidden waypoint on another cache. Because of this, I declare that Lockwhiz and crew are the Official FTFs for the test location for this cache. I guess they would also be the OTFs (Only To Find) of the test location***
