L'Opéra Nouvel est nommé pour son architecte Jean Nouvel, et a été
rénové de 1986 à 1993. Autrefois, avant l’emplacement actuel
de l’opéra de Lyon se dressait l’opéra de Soufflot.
Jacques-Germain Soufflot en est l’architecte ;
l’opéra est inauguré en octobre 1756 et démoli en 1826 afin
de faire place au théâtre Chenavard et Pollet. Détruit en 1756 par
un incendie, il est reconstruit en 1831.
Puis en 1986 un concours est organisé, l’heureux élu de
cette compétition devait au départ le remettre aux normes. Jean
Nouvel remporte le concours ; les premiers travaux débutent en
1989 et terminent en 1993 où l’opéra Nouvel (de Lyon) est
inauguré. L’architecte n’a gardé de l’ancien
bâtiment que les quatre façades et le foyer du public. D'un volume
de 77 100 m3 et d'une surface de 14 800 m2, l'opéra se
compose de 18 étages dont les 5 premiers sont creusés dans le sol
et les 6 derniers se situent dans la verrière dont le sommet se
trouve à 42 m du sol, plus 20 m de sous-sols. (Source:

Nous vous proposons de découvrir ce bâtiment, où se trouve une
des seules caches du centre de Lyon capable d'accueillir des Travel
Bugs. Cette cache est facile à trouver (le hint et les photos
spoiler donnent toutes les informations), et se trouve dans un
quartier touristique, et devrait donc faciliter le transit de TBs
par Lyon.
Vous cherchez un container en plastique de taille moyenne.
Quartier touristique donc soyez discret. Evitez de replacer la
cache trop profondément, il suffit qu'elle soit hors de vue.

The Opéra Nouvel (Nouvel Opera House) was re-designed by French
architect Jean Nouvel between 1986 and 1993 and is named after
him.
In 1756, one of the first opera houses created inside an
existing freestanding building was opened in Lyon. It was designed
by Jacques-Germain Soufflot, the architect of the Panthéon in
Paris. By early in the following century it was found to be too
small, and Antoine-Marie Chenavard and Jean-Marie Pollet erected
the new Lyon theatre which opened on July 1, 1831. It was not until
1985 that the City decided to once again re-build the opera house,
but this time it was to be within the shell of the existing 1831
building. One of France's most distinguished architects was
commissioned to create the house.
The style of the house is essentially Italian with a
horseshoe-shaped auditorium and tiers of boxes. Leaving only the
existing foyer and the exterior façade, Nouvel tripled the space
within the house by excavating below ground to create rehearsal
space and, most strikingly, by doubling the height of the building
by creating a steel and glass barrel vault which hid the fly tower
as well as providing space for the ballet company. It has been
noted that this achievement was "an architectural tour de force, in
which the past has been successfully wedded to the future..",
albeit with the limited backstage space of the 19th Century theatre

You will discover this buisling where is hidden one of the only
caches in the center of Lyon able to accommodate Travel Bugs. This
cache is easy to find (the hint and spoiler pictures give away all
the details), and is located in a tourist district, and should
therefore facilitate the transit of TBs through Lyon.
You are looking for a medium size plastic container.
Surroundings are often busy so please use stealth. Please do not
put the cache too deep, if it's out of sight that's good
enough.
