Geocache Description:

This nano is located at Sea Point, Kittery Point, ME, that is known for its dog-friendliness.

The view is largely an open shot toward the blue Atlantic. There is a narrow band of white sand between the pebbly low tide area and the dunes. Just getting to Seapoint along the winding Route 103 is a scenic drive in itself, and well worth the trip.

Kittery is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Piscataqua River just north of the New Hampshire border. Settled in 1632 by the British, it is Maine’s oldest settlement. There are several historic forts and state parks in the area, including Fort Foster, Fort Constitution, and Fort McClary.

There are not many places to swim between York and Rye. Seapoint is "swimmable" in season, but "walkable" year round. It’s rugged, primitive and that makes it just right for that off season or off-hour summer stroll with your four-legged friends.

The beach is open to dogs year-round, and the beach and parking area closes between 11 pm and 3 am. There is limited parking, with additional spaces nearer the beach for Kittery residents only.

Dogs are banned only during the key summer daytime hours; they are only NOT allowed on the beach between 10 am-5 pm between June 15th and September 10th.

Not a bad schedule if you are a dog and love the beach!! There are even doggie bags available at the parking area, in case you forgot to bring a poop bag with you!!

Please be careful to watch out for muggles!!
