The Tom Wood Trail is a portion of the Rhode Island North-South Trail System. This section is probably the only section in northern Foster that is not on a road.
Parking is available at 41°48.402, 71°46.038. This is a private parking lot that hikers have permission to use. Please respect this privilege. Hikers must park on the eastern side toward the back of the lot but not with the tree service trucks. The trail head is in the northeastern corner. The distance to the cache is about 1 mile. I rate most of the trail as a 1 with a section near the end that is a 3. You will note a sign near cache site #1 describing the site as a former waterwheel-powered mill. Take care with children in this area!
