Geocache Description:

EN: Between 1927 and 1999, JAE (Autonomous Roads Board) was responsible for the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads in Portugal. (The "afterwards" is not the case now ...)
The roadmen houses, where the workers with the same name lived, could be found along the main roads. They were responsible for ensuring the mentioned above, as well as cleaning the verges of the roads and its beautification. The houses were characterized by the tiles that distinguished them and indicated the distances to the neighboring villages.
Nowadays, in roadmen houses only abandonment is unfortunately visible. In their memory, the cache.
