Don't you love to go geocaching?
Don't you wish you could cache every
day?
Don't you wish you could get PAID to geocache?
(OK, I can't help you there...)
But I can help you
with the every day
thing!
The idea is simple: find a cache
on every single day of the year... You think you can do
that?
Well buddy,
talk is cheap! As that wise geocacher Mr. Incredible! would
say,
The idea is simple: find a cache on every single day of the
year...
This COULD take a
while...
How
to do it:
Determine which days of the year you have and have not found
caches. The simplest way to do this is to utilize the chart found
on the "Statistics" tab of
your geocaching.com profile. (You can also use a FindStat macro in
GSAK (the Geocaching Swiss Army
Knife) to generate a grid.)
Fill in the gaps on your chart by finding caches on those
days which you do not have finds. How many gaps can you fill
this year?
Because Geocaching.com
counts all kinds of caches when constructing your grid, all finds
count toward the completion of this challenge cache. For this
challenge, however, we will not count placements or cache
maintenance (which you are most likely not logging as finds
anyway.)
Your caching chart must
show that you have found at least one cache on all 366 days of the
year. Yes, 366 -- February 29 is included in this challenge. If you
have not found a cache on a previous February 29th (2004 or 2008)
then the earliest you will be able to finish this challenge is
February 29, 2012. The good news is that you have lots of time to
fill in the other gaps in your chart between now and then!
To complete this cache challenge and be eligible to sign the log
book, you must allow me to view your grid. (This means that if you
have opted NOT to make your "Statistics" tab public, I will ask
that you do so for a short period to enable me to take a
look.)
This is not a race and there are no separate retroactive or fresh
start categories. All finds count from the time you joined
Geocaching.com. Please note that this challenge will be easier if
you are a premium-member, because the "Statistics" option on
geocaching.com profiles is limited to those with premium
memberships. (However, if you are not a premium member and
can show finds on all 366 days, then you can contact me,
An Anonymous Cacher!, to claim a
"smilie" too.)
Your Calendar will look something like this...
This particular
calendar belongs to an anonymous cacher, definitely
not Mr.
Incredible! who has now cleared out June and
July!
Once you have completed your chart and it's been verified, you are
eligible to sign the log. In keeping with geocaching.com rules, you
must sign the physical logbook before creating your online Found
log. (This cache find CAN be counted as part of your 366 day
total.)
You are welcome to post updates here and also to include a graphic
of your current grid. This cache was developed to encourage
everyone to not only go caching, but to notice and think about when
we've cached in the past. I've discovered that I really tend to be
a fair-weather cacher! My goal for this year is to fill in as
many of the cold-weather "holes" in my grid as possible. Hope to
see you on the caching trail!
The Difficulty rating comes from the fact it will take years to
accomplish this feat, unless you're an "Incredible" cacher like Che
K, or Lord Elwood, or someone even "super-er..."
You are looking for a camoed plastic gallon paint container.
It is hidden with "natural cover." Please hide it as
well or better when you find it.
SPECIAL
UPDATE:
