Dieser Event hat die Erstpräsentation von "Geronia - seine eigene
weite Welt" zum Anlass,
einem
Spielfilm, den meine langjährige Freundin Jo Danieli,
Dokumentarfilmerin und Videoproduzentin, buchstäblich in
Eigenregie gemacht hat. Von ihr stammen nicht nur
Drehbuch, Regie, Kameraarbeit, Schnitt und alles andere was nötig
ist, um einen Film zu realisieren, sondern auch
das nötige Herzblut und die Konsequenz, die es braucht, um einen
Film quasi ohne Geld oder irgendeine öffentliche Unterstützung zu
realisieren.
Da
die Handlung des Filmes teilweise im Cachermilieu spielt und
Geocaching für den Protagonisten "Gero" der Weg ist, um aus
seiner persönlichen Krise zu finden, ist der Film auch für die
Cachergemeinde von Interesse, und es liegt nahe, ihn im Rahmen
eines Event Caches vorzustellen.
In aller Bescheidenheit möchte ich darauf hinweisen, dass auch ich
im Film eine Rolle spiele; Und die Grundlagen des Geocaching werden
von mir und einigen Cacher-Freunden erklärt.
Event Cache und Präsentation finden im
"Schikaneder
Kino & Cafe" statt, das nicht nur ein alteingesessenes Kino
ist, sondern auch über die gastronomischen Räumlichkeiten für den
Event verfügt.

Der Film dauert zwei Stunden (wird auf

künstlerisches Projekt - als solches
also eher kein Kinderprogramm.

Ein Internet-süchtiger Mann findet durch “Geocaching”
wieder in die Realität zurück und entdeckt sich selbst und die Welt
neu.
“Gero” (Daniel Pospischil) lebt abgeschottet in seinen
verdunkelten vier Wänden; Seine Kontakte zur Außenwelt sind das
Internet und seine treue Freundin “Linda” (Julia
Resinger). Gero’s Wesen definiert sich durch die Websites,
die er regelmäßig besucht: Er hat durchaus Interesse an der Welt,
ist informiert und hat Idole und Ideale, besonders alles, was
Menschenrechte, Bienen und Tennis betrifft (sein Idol Lance Lumsden
ist eine Quelle der Lebensphilosophie). Linda überredet Gero dazu,
sie einmal zum Geocachen zu begleiten – und er gibt
nach, erlebt den ersten Find und beginnt, widerstrebend fasziniert,
fortan heimlich nach Caches zu suchen.
Zunächst versucht Gero trotzig, seinen gewohnten Routinen
nachzugehen, aber er fühlt sich von den online-Cachern
(SixtusDahastus, artig&hold, deCesare) herausgefordert, sich
auf Abenteuer draußen einzulassen. Er begegnet dabei seinem
furchtsamen und egozentrischen Selbst, während er langsam beginnt,
die Welt abseits des Internets wieder zu entdecken, angesport
auch von seiner “inneren Stimme”, die ihn im Traum,
aber auch in Realität, immer öfter zum Nachdenken über seine eigene
Weltsicht anregt.
Gero beginnt daran zu glauben, dass es einen “goldenen
Cache” gibt und beschließt diesen zu suchen - was ihm innere
und äußere Abenteuer beschert.
Statt wirklich einen echten “Schatz” zu finden,
begegnet Gero sich aber letztlich selber – und als Linda ihn
wieder besucht und er sie zum Spazierengehen einlädt, wird klar,
dass das Leben der beiden dabei ist sich gravierend zu
ändern.
“Geronia” ist ein modernes “Märchen”, in
dezenten filmischen Stil gesetzt, eine Mischung aus
“Theater”, “episodischer Dokumentation”,
“satirischem Drama” und
“Fliegenperspektive”.

This event features the first presentation of
"Geronia – his own wide world", an artistic feature movie
by my friend, the documentary filmmaker and video producer Jo
Danieli, who made it practically by herself (she is the writer,
director, cinematographer and editor) without funding, virtually on
a shoestring, with the help of many eager Austrian actors and the
American co-producer Bob Stone.
The film's plot relates to geocaching insofar as the path of the
main protagonist "Gero" out of his personal crisis leads through
the encounter with this trendy game. It lies within the nature of
the film's theme to present this project to the public in an event
cache situation as a sneak preview (the film has no distributor
yet).
Humbly I'd like to mention that I too have
a role in this film, and the basics of geocaching are explained in
the film by fellow geocachers from Austria.
Event Cache and presentation take place at
the "Schikaneder Movie Theater &
Cafe" which is a historic movie theater and
cafe.

course,optional; 7€
per person (6€ reduced).
This German language film is 120 minutes
long and has English subtitles.
It is an artistic project and therefore not really suited for small
children.
Please mention within your "Will
Attend" which screening you are planning to attend and how many of
you will come.

An internet-addict finds back to
reality through geocaching and discovers himself and the world
anew.
“Gero” (Daniel
Pospischil) lives secluded in his dark apartment, and his only
contacts to the world outside are the internet and his desperate
longtime girlfriend “Linda” (Julia Resinger).
Gero’s personality is defined by the websites that he visits
on a regular basis. He does show interest in the world, has idols
and ideals, especially everything that relates to human rights,
history, bees and tennis (his idol Lance Lumsden is a source of
life-philosophy). One day, Linda persuades Gero to join her on a
geocaching tour – and from that day on, Gero secretly begins
to hunt for caches, although at first he tries stubbornly to hang
on to his old routines. Several online geocachers (SixtusDahastus,
artig&hold, deCesare) inspire Gero to venture out into the real
world – which he timidly does, also prompted by his own
"inner voice" who appears in his dreams but also in reality, and
who continuously challenges his own views of the world and his
attitude towards life.
Gero begins to believe in the existence of a "golden cache" and
decides to search for this treasure – but what he ends up
finding is a "treasure" of a different kind than he had expected
… and his and his girlfriend's lives begin to change for
good.
“Geronia” is a modern fairy tale, set into subtle
digital style, a mixture of theater, episodic documentary,
satirical drama and a "fly-on-the-wall" perspective.
