This cache is placed just off the Shingle Pond Trail in a little used area of the WMNF.
After hiking up to Shingle Pond today and finding GC1YZVE, Hang out your Shingle, we decided to place this cache to encourage other people to come and visit this under used area of the WMNF. Park on Timberland Drive off Hurricane Mountain Road. There are several spots to park off the road on the right side at the end of the pavement just before the white ski house. Continue up the road a short ways and bear left onto the logging road. Follow the waypoints in GC1YZVE to stay on the right trail at two junctions. After the second waypoint the trail is easily followed all the way to the cache. The trail gently rises with several brook crossings and muddy areas that are easily passed.
The cache can be found just off the trail on the right side after the crossing of Wounded Knee Brook. There is a sign on the left at the brook crossing. You are looking for a medium sized lock n' lock.
After finding this cache continue 2/3 of a mile up the trail to Shingle Pond to find GC1YZVE and enjoy the pond and view up to the fire tower on North Kearsarge.
