in Kansasville, WI

Shelter #2 From 1:00pm - 2:00pm

THE MAGICAL MYSTERY CACHE/CRAWL TOUR is a group of cachers from Illinois coming up to Wisconsin on June 4th 2011 to cache at the beautiful Richard Bong State Recreation Area and then travel to Milwaukee's Water Street area restaurants and bars. Please join us at the State Park and then in Milwaukee. There will be 5 new caches released on that day.

A vehicle admission sticker is required on all motor vehicles stopping in state parks and recreation areas. Buy your sticker either when you get to the park or in advance. You can buy either an annual sticker, for admission to all state parks and forests for the calendar year, or a daily sticker, valid only on the date of issue. If you have only a little time to visit, you can buy a one-hour sticker at most state parks and forests.

Daily Sticker Fees:
Vehicle with WI license plates $7
Vehicle with WI plates, resident age 65 and older $3
Vehicle with out-of-state plates $10

Once designated to be a jet fighter base, Richard Bong State Recreation Area is fittingly named after Major Richard I. Bong, a poplar, Wisconsin, native who was America's leading air ace during World War II. The project was abandoned three days before concrete was to be poured for a 12,500-foot runway. Local citizens had the foresight to protect this open space for future generations. In 1974 the state bought the land and it became the state's first recreation area.
