Geocache Description:

This is a well-stocked coffee jug hidden where there's a wonderful view of Deering Pond.

Here's yet another view of Deering Pond! Watch for the Hall Environmental Reserve, Deering Pond sign for side-of-the-road parking on Deering Neighborhood Rd. There's room to be totally off the pavement.

You will hike down an old dirt road that has been ravaged by four-wheelers/dirt bikes and remains popular for those activities. Once you get near the pond, you'll notice that the pond side is unfortunately a popular 'party spot'; so the cache is NOT on the pond side. (I 'Trash Out' every time I go this way.) If you find excessive trash or other abuse of this trail, please contact me, the cache owner through email or your log, and I'll notify the Mousam Way Land Trust immediately. Also, please watch youngsters who wander to the pond side carefully as there are some very steep cliffs that drop to the water.

The cache is stuffed with a variety of items for young and old. I am greatly entertained by the "First to Find" battles; FTF will always have that satisfaction. There are no losers in caching, so my caches will have either a first, second, or third to find prize - not telling which!! Please count each of the following situations as a single find: caching alone; caching in a group; joining another cacher who arrived before you did, but who hasn't found it. As for coming upon a cacher who's already found it, please use your own discretion. Have fun!

Congratulations to joggerjan and doc1965 for FTF!
