Geocache Description:

This cache is another in our series dedicated to the Baccalieu Trail.

The community of Winterton on Route 80 on the Baccalieu Trail was once known as Scilly Cove. It is one of the oldest communities of the province with a history that goes back to the 17th century. The town name was changed to Winterton in 1912 to honor former Newfoundland Prime Minister Sir James S. Winter.

Turn off on Northern Point road from Route 80 to access the cache.

This is a preform container that is hanging on a tree, containing a logbook and pencil.
