Cache is located along the banks of the Eel River. There are two ways to get to the cache, one more difficult than the other. Easier terrain is suitable for anyone who can walk up and down hill in the woods.
Park at the black mail box at 204 Long Pond Road or a short way down the dirt road. Parking is on the east side of Long Pond Road just south of the parking lot for the Eel River Preserve. Exit 5 off Rt 3.
Follow dirt road, cross the bridge, and follow walking trail that parallels the river. After power line the trail splits. Trail to the left has a short section of risky footing not suitable for small kids.
Trail that goes straight is longer but easier. After trail levels off it veers left and down hill. Cache is at junction of the two trails.
There are many other trails in the area to explore but some are way too muddy this time of year.
