Geocache Description:

All find answers must be communicated via E-Mail. I will not respond to any messenger application and subject to deletion.

Sandstone and shale were deposited here in the oceanduring the Mesozoic period. These rocks make up the bulk of the coastal range in California. At the location, you can easily make out the many layers of the sedimentary shale deposit. The tilt and dip is also very visible.

There have been many geological events that have molded that area as we see today. Tectonics and erosion have played a big part in the sculpture of most of California and here is more evidence.

Logging requirements are as follows:
  • Email me with the following information with the GC code
  • What 2 colors is the majority of the formation?
  • Looking at the formation, what side (direction) is dipping into the ground?
  • How many in your party?
  • What is the elevation? (optional)
