Our second hide...so exciting! [:)] We discovered there was a trail here (while caching in the area) and found it to be a place that others needed to know about. It is almost a park and grab..you have to walk 100ft or less.
We took the letter V from VOCABULARY VIRUS GC17180 and chose V for Vulture. Specifically, the Turkey Vulture. Did you know there were Turkey Vultures in NH?
The Turkey Vulture is part of NH's wildlife. They are found in most of the Americas. Ranging from Southern Canada to Southern America, the Turkey Vulture is a scavenger and feeds mostly on carrion or dead meat. It tracks down its meals by using its keen sense of smell and eye sight. It uses its nose to smell the decaying vapors of dead animals and it's eye sight to see the carcass. In the USA the Turkey Vulture is protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. (Via Wikipedia and #1 son for his research :)
Located in the East Concord NH Heritage Trail. Map can be found at this website:
