A group of cricket enthusiasts, late one night, were discussing the values of the players inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. There was plenty of discussion on how their individual value could be measured, but there just could not unanimously agree on a way of determining it! There was the usual debates about they played in different era’s, under different rules and when the pitches were covered or not.
So it was decided for a bit of fun to hold a auction to see what value these outstanding players would have if there was an auction on individual letters that make up a players name rather than their cricket ability! So each letter was auctioned and by some strange coincidence the letters all had a unique whole dollar value, though they were all between the value of $1 and $26.
The end result is that the legend of Australian Cricket SIR DONALD BRADMAN got the highest value of $257, and CLEM HILL wished he had more letters in his name as he only got $82!
So as a result of the auction, the final values have been calculated and applied to a number of the members of the hall of fame!
