Bush Birthday Bash
Welcome to another Blacklegend cache... This
time an event cache....
When? Saturday 18th June 2010
Where? Barooga Botanical Gardens, Barooga. (coordinates as
provided)
Time? 11am until about 1pm.
NOTE: As of 8th of June 2011 i have had to change the location
of the event due to rainfall and the poor condition of the tracks
to Apex Beach. The new location is the Barooga Botanical Gardens.
Coordinates are listed in the cache logs. Will / are updated to the
cache page.
The new location has Public Toilets, BBQ's, Playground, Small
Carpark, Water, and a large park area for kids to play
in.
So, i have decided to have a little get together with some of my
geocaching friends for my birthday. Who wants to join me??
It is my 37th birthday, but not on the day of the event. The event
will be a very informal get together, bit of a meet and greet
situation, with a bit of BBQ situation thrown in.
Now that the location has changed from Apex Beach due to the track
condition, there are electric BBQ's at the event location, water,
etc.
The event is very informal. I'm bringing the family along, as well
as a few snags, a few beers, you get the picture.
I have had this planned for a long while, but with the announcement
of the two Albury events out of the blue, i almost didn't run this,
due to the clash, but i thought, what the hell, you only have a
birthday once a year, so i am going ahead as planned.
Below is a satellite / hybrid image of the general location of Apex
Beach, where the original location of the cache was. I have left
this on here, because, if anyone is looking to camp for free, and
has a 4WD, camping gear, etc, it is a fantastic spot to camp.
Should be pretty quiet at this time of year. I will give this much
away, the beach is about 500m long, and one of the new caches for
the day is somewhere on this beach. The coords for that cache once
released should let you find it very easy if you are thinking of
camping there.
One more little thing, I will have a few new caches coming out on
the day, at about the time the event ends hopefully, if i can get
it all coordinated up ok. So a bit of a FTF chase will be on.
How many new caches have i placed?? Well I'm turning 37..... Be
kind to me local reviewers, i am going to email you about the new
caches..... If i don't have time to place quite the 37, there will
be at least 32, which is the number i currently have in as of
09/06/2011. I am hoping to get a few more in before the
event.
TB / GC Situation. I have dropped a heap of GC's and TB's in
the event page. I will be bringing them in a large Sistema
container, if anyone has a few or a heap of them, and wants to drop
them on the event page, feel free to do so. They can be added to
the container on the day, for discovery or collection by
others.
So, informal, great location, great bloke having a birthday.....
I hope someone comes along, because i'm gonna look silly drinking
and eating on my own.
