It used to be the case that at each point where a road breaks through the boundary to enter the parish a cache had been placed. In the log book for each of these caches a piece of information existed which could be used to locate a bonus cache: The Interior. That cache has now been archived.
Northill parish has two websites: one for the Parish Council and a Community Information Web Site. The parish is home to the Ickwell May Day festivities which have been taking place on the green in Ickwell since at least 1565.
This cache is associated with the bridge over the River Ivel. Originally the parish boundary ran along the road from the A1 roundabout to the "Meccano Bridge" and then turned north, running up the river. However, in 2001 a new bridge was built, just to the north of the previous bridge meaning that its western end was firmly in Northill parish. You can still see where the Meccano Bridge went because a utilities pipe still crosses the river in its original location. Also, the original road surface leading to the old bridge can be seen on the western side of the river (and you may find yourself using it to park for the cache).
