Location is the State Hospital of the Insane Cemetery. Terrain is
mostly flat, with some slight grades. Could drive to the location.
Getting to the right path may be difficult as it is complicated
giving directions. No direct path to location. **SPECIAL NOTE** Due
to security reasons, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE AT NIGHT.
This is the site of the State Hospital for the Insane Cemetery. Not
many people know of the existance of this cemetery. Times have
changed, and cemeteries like this are no longer used. Before recent
times the mentaly handicapped were sent away to huge State run
mental hospitals and forgotten about by their families. In many
cases patients became property of the state. In such events, the
deceased were put to rest in remote cemeteries like this. A lot of
history here and at the State Hospital located south of the
cemetery. I encourage you to do a little history research on State
run cemeteries. You may be surprised to hear of how these people
were treated and forgotten about. You can drive to the cemetery,
but I recommend you walk as you might see some wildlife. Wildlife
preserve is west of the cemetery. Permission obtained by caretaker
of the property.
