Geocache Description:

A cache named after one of the Ohlone Tribes of the area.

The Ramaytush are one of the linguistic subdivisions of the Ohlone Native Americans of Northern California. The Ramaytush inhabited the San Francisco Peninsula, between the ocean and the sea.

After the creation of Mission Dolores in 1776, many Ramaytush speaking people were relocated to the mission. At the mission european disease took a heavy toll of life on all the tribal people. The Ramaytush speaking Ohlone were all but extinct by 1915.
