Geocache Description:

A quick "park & grab" at the parking area for the Becket Land Trust Historic Quarry and Forest. The rest of the caches in the area are not so easy and it is HIGHLY recommended that you have a trail map before entering the forest as the trail system is complex. Maps are available at the kiosk in the parking area but often run out. They are also available online at http://www.becketlandtrust.org/quarry/quarry_forest_trail-map.htm

The Chester-Hudson Quarry operated here from 1850-1960. The strange thing is that when they closed "it was as if the quarrymen had left for lunch and never returned". They left behind a "living museum" of abandonded equiptment and structures that are still here today.

During warm weather this place is alive with muggles. It is a popular swimming hole complete with diving cliffs. If you come here with small children they will have a blast, but keep an eye on them as there are steep drop offs in some places.

The rest of the caches hidden in the area will take you to some points of interest and along some well-marked trails. Come prepared with water, good sneakers or boots, bug spray, and a trail map. I hope you enjoy this area as much as my family does!

The cache is a small lock & lock with a log and small trade items. Enjoy!
